Applications for support
There are three types of support available through the Islesboro Community Fund - temporary financial assistance, enrichment, and scholarship. Please read the information below and the scholarship page for more information about the requirements for each application.
Who is eligible?
The Islesboro Community Fund provides temporary financial assistance to Islesboro residents who are
unable to obtain financial assistance from existing state and federal programs. Requests for financial assistance are confidential.
Temporary Financial Assistance
The Fund reviews requests for assistance related to medical, food security, utilities, housing, and transportation. The Fund does not reimburse expenses directly to the individual but provides its assistance to the specified third parties on behalf of the successful applicant.
Please note that copies of bills are required with each application and an application for Temporary Financial Assistance must be completed each time a request is made.

Financial Assistance for Enrichment Programs
The Fund reviews requests made by an individual for financial assistance with enrichment programs related to education, health, travel, athletics and culture. The Fund provides its assistance to the specified third parties on behalf of the successful applicant.

- Requests for personal reimbursement, legal fees, taxes, child support
- Assistance related to pets or animals. Please contact the Islesboro Community Center for more information about the Pet Clinic.

The Fund reviews requests made by an individual for financial assistance with enrichment programs related to education, health, travel, athletics and culture. The Fund provides its assistance to the specified third parties on behalf of the successful applicant.
The Fund does not accept requests for financial assistance for
- Enrichment programs from third party organizations, third party individuals or individuals representing groups of individuals.
- Personal reimbursements.
An application for financial assistance must be filled out each time a request is made.

Application process
- You must complete and submit an application each time an application is made in order for your request to be reviewed.If you are having difficulty filling out an application, please contact a Board member and they will help you fill one out.
- Please submit your application by the end of each month. For example, an application submitted before the end of July will be reviewed at the August meeting. Please plan accordingly.
